Unfortunately, not the cold weather... I just mean winter quarter here at school. Sorry y'all, but I love cold weather and wish it had snowed while I was home.
...don't look at me like that, I was born during an ice storm! I can't help it.
At any rate, whoo, winter break was definitely busy!! As some of y'all might know, I got to go on the Off-Campus trip to Japan. That was undoubtedly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. I absolutely loved it over there, but was a fish out of water for I didn't speak the language and
definitely couldn't read it. I could communicate alright with my pocket phrase book and body language (even though some of you all know I'm a bit of a spaz) though.
Definitely a city I could get used to living in though....once I learned some Japanese. It was so clean, customer service was
stellar (unlike here at home where nobody wants to do their job, but still want to get paid), and things just...seemed to have their own place in what felt like a giant clock, if that makes any sense. It was more orderly over there.
At the same time though, I can't tell you how badly I was craving Mexican food and a big steak by week number two! As my mom teased me, "You can take the girl out of the country, but you can't take the country out of the girl." Yeah, yeah... A very country/small town thing to say, but hey, that's home to me. But regardless, there were a ton of pictures taken, lots of foods tried, and too many things bought.

Lots and lots of books too.
Once I got home, it was more running around and no signs of stopping! I was sick when I got back, and with the 14-hour difference, I was out of commission for a few days. Then it was back home to VA to get some last-minute Christmas stuff done. After the holiday I went up north to visit *
self-replica and his family for a few days and stayed for New Year's Day.
...then it was back home to help prepare for my best friend's wedding! Yep, I was a bride's maid in one of the prettiest weddings I've ever been to (with all respect to my uncles' weddings, but this one was comfortable AND pretty). It was surreal watching her get married, but I wish her and her husband lots of love and luck (even if he
does like Superman

).
And now here I am, back at school two days after the ceremony and working like crazy to finish my comic for the Japan trip in time. No rest for the weary, I suppose! It's all good though. I wouldn't change it for anything.
After all that's said and done, I have some long overdue projects to do for some friends. Two ranger-friends of mine (you two know who you are) have some pictures pending as gratitude for things, and I have a small, private competition with my Flame Knight for another picture (which you fine folks might get to see....you might not, haha!).
So we'll see what happens during the next few weeks! As always, thanks for stopping by! Please be sure to browse and poke around (don't poke too hard, I bruise!), and pay a visit to some of the Favourites' artists! Until next time!
